December 27, 2010 written around 2 p.m.
I am almost ready to leave for the trip. My clothes are all packed. I just need to add a few miscellaneous items like powdered toothpaste. I am taking one carry-on bag. I believe that my luggage weighs about 22 pounds. That is good. I was trying for less than 20 pounds of luggage.
I have a one more assignment to complete for this trip. I have been without internet access for now about 24 hours. I realize that my whole life revolves around my wireless connection. I was using both laptops and watching a Netflix streamed movie when AT&T dropped our phone and DSL line. I was told that our whole neighborhood is without service; that we are a priority to get fixed.
This has given me time to double check my list of what I will take to Thailand. I believe that I have everything that I could need. Whatever isn’t packed I can live without.
Update: DSL and phone service returned around 7:30 p.m. That was about 36 hours without DSL. I survived.
